As an Audio Supervisor and Location Sound Mixer my primary focus is to capture dialogue in a manner that will enhance the story whether reality or narrative.
Capturing every “moment” is key and while a technical feet on the surface, it really boils down to communication, people skills and a passion for story telling, no matter the challenge!
In all Documentary, Film and Television work, including Reality TV, Sound is used to capture and describe emotions, environments and situations. In addition to Clear words, the Natural Sound and Designed Sonic World help viewers to feel and interpret the reality and weight of a story.
I always strive to make my clients and team completely comfortable and trusting in my understanding of their vision, enabling them to have unshakeable confidence in my ability to deliver exactly to their needs. I develop a strong dialogue and collaborative relationship throughout the entire content creation process from pre-production planning, through production and post-production.
My technical understanding in the production process is solid; this allows us as a team to concentrate on the story telling points and emotional goals of the project, the Magic; including Story Arcs, Development Objectives, Emotional Maps, Entertainment Value…, etc. These things are discussed thoroughly and notated when dealing with any project, as I’ve come to realize the importance of checklists!
My experience and functional understanding in Production and Post-production give me an advantage both artistically and technically.
Whether in the office, field, on location or stage, or in the post sound design and mixing studio, my teammates can trust that I am fighting for their vision. I get along fantastically with clientele, crew and talent. I am a strong believer in paying it forward and welcome the opportunity to work with Students and new Creatives…. and,… I also speak Production and Post-latin!
