I’m a producer, production coordinator and local fixer with more than 25 years across documentary, unscripted television, feature film, commercial and branded production. My work combines production leadership with hands-on experience in production sound, audio supervision and post-production. Based in Southern Utah / Greater Zion, I work regionally, nationally and internationally.
From planning to final delivery
My work spans pre-production planning, production, post-production and final delivery. My field experience includes international documentaries, remote locations and productions involving aviation and specialty vehicles.

About Mark
I lead projects from planning through delivery, handling budgets, schedules, crew and vendor sourcing, locations and field logistics. My experience in production and sound helps me anticipate needs, collaborate across departments and solve problems on set.
Teaching & mentorship
Academic appointments include professorships. At the American Film Institute, I developed and taught curriculum connecting the artistic and technical disciplines of production sound with the complete post-production sound process. Fellows were trained not only in recording and sound craft, but in understanding how creative intent and storytelling carry through sound editorial, re-recording mixing, workflow planning, vendor coordination, technical specifications and final delivery. The program emphasized professional collaboration, communication and accountability, preparing Fellows to understand and supervise sound as an integrated part of the filmmaking process. I also supervised Cycle, Thesis and Directing Workshop for Women productions within a high-volume, award-winning program delivering more than 85 films annually, providing practical oversight across production, post-production and delivery.
At John Paul the Great Catholic University, I developed and taught courses in production sound, post-production sound and Freelancing & the Gig Economy. In Freelancing & the Gig Economy, students learned to approach freelance work as business owners rather than temporary labor. The course began with self-awareness, including an understanding of individual goals, values, strengths and limitations. From there, students progressed into building trusted creative networks, understanding client needs, listening before prescribing solutions, diagnosing problems and creating meaningful value. The course culminated in a 15-person, three-division student creative studio. Students conducted discovery and Community Creative Needs Assessments with local businesses, identified underlying needs and pain points, and developed actionable, impactful creative strategies aligned with real business objectives. I continue to mentor filmmakers and creative professionals beyond the classroom.
